But then, you realize that it's not really hilarious. It's just plain horrifyingly awful. And the laughter you experienced morphs into a groan.

Ultimately, you are left with a sense of utter perplexity. You start ruminating about the nature of it all. Was this intended to be funny?

Or were we just simply unfortunate enough to witness this spectacle unfold?

Thousands were buried beneath rubble, their fate unknown. The severity of the disaster was unprecedented, forcing survivors to grapple a future forever scarred.

Worst Day Ever

It all started with my case of uncontrollable hair. I couldn't do it to look right. As I was scrambling out the door, I trippedover and dropped my lunch all over the floor. To make matters worse, I was extremely running behind for school.

I flustered. My {boss|teacher|was absolutely furious. I managed to explain, but it was pointless.

The rest of the day was an absolute nightmare. turned sour. I couldn'tthink straight.

By the time I reached my destination, I was completely drained. This day, this terrible day will be forever remembered as an epic fail.

It all started out horribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then it went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind Very bad of situation where you just want to scream into a pillow.
